In South of France, under Thales coordination, with the involvement of Vito, Remifor and the fire fighters of the Gard, a set of sensors was deployed dynamically on the terrain to gain a better knowledge of the operational picture in a forest fire. A whole system was deployed around a real controlled fire: an airborne platform for the acquisition and geo referenced processing of the video, a satellite internet connection embedded in a truck, wireless cameras, a meteorological station, and portable sensors equipping the fire fighters for their permanent positioning.
