The OSIRIS system was successfully implemented in four real life
demonstrations.
Forest fires, fire in industrial buildings, fresh water management, air
pollution, each covering the monitoring and crisis aspects, and complementary in
terms of (i) environmental constraints, (ii) time constraints, (iii) smart
sensors based on fixed or mobile platforms, including airborne platforms
especially a UAV, (iv) information delivered by the sensors.
The demonstrations showed in real conditions the whole processing chain, from
information capture to exploitation by the end-users. The OSIRIS system was
integrated in this chain between the sensors and user operational information
system. The sensors were either provided by the end-users or the consortium.
All the benefits of the web services brought by OSIRIS have thus been
validated.
