European Commission, Information Society and Media Directorate General OSIRIS project is co-funded by DG INFSO

EUROPCOM investigates and demonstrates the use of UltraWideBand (UWB) radio technology to allow the precise location of emergency service workers operating inside buildings to be displayed in a control vehicle and simultaneously improve communications reliability. OSIRIS adapts this solution for positioning of fire fighters in forest fires.

Group on Earth Observation – GEO The Group on Earth Observations (or GEO) is coordinating international efforts to build a Global Earth Observation System of Systems (GEOSS). OSIRIS project contributes to GEOSS.

Global Monitoring for Environment and Security OSIRIS project belongs to the GMES initiative:

Open Geospatial Consortium The Open Geospatial Consortium, Inc.® (OGC) is a non-profit, international, voluntary consensus standards organization that is leading the development of standards for geospatial and location based services.

Open Geospatial Consortium, Sensor Web Enablement One of the main concepts implemented in the OSIRIS project. OSIRIS is actively pursuing standardization of sensor network interfaces through OGC. In addition, the project specifies and implements open source SWE services. Thales Communications and WWU are contributors to the OGC SWE initiative.

PSC Europe, Public Safety Communication Europe OSIRIS implements four real life experiments, where original and smart communication means are deployed (S-WIFI, UWB Ultra Wide Band, Zigbee, etc).

SANY Sensor Anywhere - IST FP6 Integrated Project OSIRIS project exchanges its ideas on the in-situ architecture and its specifications on SWE with the SANY project.

52 North Exploring Horizons A sub-contractor of the OSIRIS project, providing SWE implementations based on OSIRIS specifications to the community, in relation with OGC. OSIRIS contribution is mentioned on 52N web site for the:
SAS Sensor Alert Service
SOS Sensor Observation Service
SPS Sensor Planning Service
